there are many, i know, but i've yet to stumble into the right one. my man has hit winters and liked it, and together we hit cheers, which is um, impacted with what appears to be many regulars whose brains have been ravaged by years of amphetamine abuse. one of the bartenders was even smoking dope out front when we walked in, which seemed dumb as hell because it's in a freakin' strip mall! can you say "totally blown away"???

so uh yeah. if anyone knows of any good spots to hit up, that would be awesome! we just recently moved down here and are still getting our sea legs, so to speak.

Wow. Quiet summer, eh?

Well, it's time to come to life. I need a little help here.

I'm supposed to set a friend's birthday pub crawl, and it has to begin in the Aquatic Park area. I 'm tasked with coming up with a list of 6-8 bars that go in a circle, such that the end is relatively close to the beginning.

Other than the places along Fisherman's Wharf, which I'd like to avoid, what interesting places are there that I can take this mangy group of ne'er do wells I call friends?

Help!
Bartender as God

"Your God is the bartender. The bartender is always God, or haven't you noticed?"
"I hadn't, but go on. You will, anyway."
"Drinkers are all alike. They go to the bartender for peace, for release. They tell him their troubles in confessional. Like God he dispenses wisdom, judgement, guidance. He rules supreme in his own world. He is quick to punish the transgressor. He can also reward with his favor -- or with free drinks. He is omniscient and all-powerful. He knows everything about everybody within the microcosmic universe of the tavern. He is the source of solace and consolation. And he is worshiped in libations, with sacramental wine that produces divine intoxication. He is also, I might add, the father-image. Or more exactly, an idealization of the father. The infantile regressions of the dipsomaniac fit into this pattern of unconscious symbolism."
"Funny you should say that. I never drank until Dad was killed."

Trivia Nights?

So I know that trivia is pretty big in the local pubs around the bay area.

The dive I am currently working in is looking at doing the same thing on my main night that I work, I am excited about this because I love trivia.

Thing is I am new to the area and the owner and i am not sure exactly how it works.

Such as I know other places has someone else come in and run it kind of like karaoke i guess in that sense. Do the have electronical equipment? Do they use paper? How is it exactly run? And how do we find one of these guru's to hire????

Yo,

The Heavy Hand, my play about a dive bar owning family that ends up in dire straits ends its run in sf this weekend. If you like crazy dive-bar antics and patrons and need an impetus do drink, this'll do it.

-sean

The Heavy Hand is a gritty bar-room family drama of addiction, love, romance and murder. A skilled bartender tries to save what’s left of her family while pouring drinks for the people who are hopelessly in love with her … until someone gets hurt. Will anyone escape from the depths of alcohol, sex and drugs to break out on their own? Or will greed, and the torrid affairs of the heart, steal hope from a brighter future? One thing is for sure, no one will be left unscathed by machinations of The Heavy Hand.

On Monument, I guess this place use to be Tiffany's or something like that and use to be one of the best hoppin places in Concord, than some old Asian lady ran it into the ground and it got really dead!

Now it is under new management again and the new owner has redone the place pretty good!

It is dark and sexy in there. Suppose to be a sports bar but hasn't gotten all the satellites hooked up yet so still only have the local games, BUT he has new younger bartenders back in there and the girl bartender on Sundays makes the best Bloody Mary's in town!!! She is also there on Monday nights and while the beers are reasonable and top shelf drinks might be a little pricey, she poors her drinks pretty heavy, and did I mention she is fucking HOT!!!???

Has a pool table, getting dartboards, and BIG screen TV's! This guy is working overtime to bring that place that use to be awesome back to life!!!

I'm going to be there Sunday for The Bloody Mary that fucking rocks!!! Who's with me!!!???

Its official: Tipsy Tuesday Bar Crawl Thing on Saturday, Nov 17

Tipsy Tuesdays is a fun group partying activity, spread by word-of-mouth, that visits a different bar every Tuesday night. We only go to bars that have outdoor patios, since that's where we like to hang out, so we rotate between 10 or so different places. I've been at it since 2003, and planning this bar crawl for a while, so I thought it would be fun to open it to the public and see how many people we can entice :)

(For reference, I've also posted a map in this tribe)

Official invite:

You've heard the rumours, now be the first on your block to proclaim that they are, in fact, true! Some fool thought it would be cool to do a bar crawl through the most frequently-visited Tuesday locations, and many other fools jumped right in.

Be a fool!

Apologies in advance for the anality of the whole schedule-thing, but you know how paranoid I am that some poor hapless bastard will arrive too early or too late, and miss out, and spend years in therapy recovering from the ordeal.

So, for the sake of that poor hapless hypothetical bastard who may very well be me, I offer you this:

5:00 drink & smoke at Lucky 13, 2140 Market st

6:00 drink & smoke at Pilsner Inn, 225 Church st

6:45 drink & smoke at Zeitgeist, 199 Valencia st. We'll stay a little extra here :)

8:00 drink & smoke at Eagle Tavern, 398 12th st

9:00 consummate at Il Pirata, 2007 16th st

See you on the patio!!

(from this week's "lush" section of tablehopper.com: http://www.tablehopper.com/2007/09/lush-matador.html )

"Anthony LaVia (who helped open Gestalt House) has taken over the Arrow Bar, and will be reopening it as ~MATADOR~. After some delays, it’s looking like a soft opening will happen the first weekend of October, and then a grand opening on the 19th. The look will include some funky '60s pendant lamps, paintings of matadors and bulls, and a cool Mexican gothic feel. Oh, and a total fresh paint job. The back cave is no more: it now has some exposed steel beams, and the men’s bathroom was totally freshened up—the ladies’ room will be updated soon, with two or even three stalls! An abundance of stalls, how novel."

I wish you all well, and for those of you on the playa, let's have some dusty, divey drinks for the homies that couldn't be there.

See ya'll in about eight days.

Sneaky Tiki? Other tiki bars?

Is the Sneaky Tiki on Folsom closed? It's been awhile since I've been there, but when I suggested it to some friends, they said they thought it was no more.

Any other tiki bars in SF to suggest? I think there's one in North Beach, but can't remember the name of it...

Thanks in advance--

Well hello there new people, and WELCOME to the tribe!!!

This is where fans of dives gather to celebrate all drinks with booze, beer, etc.

I was out of town for about a week, and when I returned there were 302 new posts in this tribe!!

I love to see the participation! And the alcohol inthusiasm.

But what do you guys say to trying to keep things a bit more on topic, and a little less of the inside jokes or stuff tottally unrelated to the tribe. Does that ok folks? ;-)

Welcome, and let's keep the whiskey shots flowing.

some would say a dive bar exists merely to pour whiskey down its patrons' throats. What's the best bourbon a bar can offer and still maintain its dive status--the ubiquitous Jack & Jim, or something nearer the top shelf?

An 89-mile pub crawl across North Yorkshire

I'm not sure what this has to do with pudding.. but here ya go anyway.

Kieran Falconer encountered 31 pubs on his 89-mile trek around the North York Moors. Tough work, but someone’s got to do it. Plus, Jill Turton champions the growing comforts of the Iron Coast

THERE is nothing better than a pint after a long walk. It tastes better, the pub is friendlier and best of all, you’ve earned it. You would deserve it more if you went on the kind of Yorkshire moors walk that Mark Reid envisages.
“You’ve got to be careful of adders by the riverbanks, bees as well, they can swarm on the moors, sheepdogs always go for ankles, lightning on the moors is dangerous because you’re the highest thing around, young bulls will run towards you but they have tunnel vision so just extend your arms and shout.”

Reid is the author of the Inn Way series of books, a selection of circular walks in northern national parks including the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, where the aim is to go via the best pubs in the neighbourhood.

“I’ve always been in beer,” he remarks cheerfully. A graduate trainee with Tetley and then an area manager, Mark settled for a less stressful career when his first guide to the Dales was a success. He swilled his pint back and we were off on an 89-mile circular walking tour of the North York Moors taking in 31 pubs.

“It took me two years and 650 miles of walking to devise this North York Moors route, getting the right pubs, working out the best views, and getting good accommodation.” The route is so successful that the National Park Authority has put up Inn Way signposts.

1. tactical chunder

This is a chunder (or puke) which is invoked voluntarily through the use of a physical or physchological trigger such as shoving fingers down throat/drinking salty water or imagining eating slugs/watching your grandparents have kinky sex. The tactical chunder is widely regarded as an essential whitey management skill which can, in the right hands, prove to be the turning point for a particularly brutal session.

----> what's "whitey management"?

1. whitey management

To deliberately avoid a severe adverse reaction to excessive drug abuse. In many cases the whitey will have been brought on by a prolongued session involving a cocktail of drugs.

-----> What's a "whitey"?

1. whitey
The result of the subject's inability to handle their intake of alcohol or drugs.

Symptoms of being "on a whitey" include vomiting, nausea, tiredness, unconsciousness, and a pale facial complexion (which is how the term came out).

definition of a dive

From Timothy Guilfoyle A Pickpocket's Tale

Origins of the term 'dive' are difficult to pinpoint. Mid-nineteenth-century New Yorkers apparently employed the word to describe disreputable drinking establishments located in basements, thereby requiring patrons to figuratively "dive" into them to escape public view. One reporter defined a dive as "a place that is low down, beneath the street level, and is devoted to drinking or dancing." By the 1880s, however, many accepted police detective Thomas Byrnes's assumption that a dive was an unlicensed leisure establishment: a house of prostitution, gambling den, policy office, or opium den.

I know John Barleycorn isn't exactly a dive, but it's a great old place, and deserves to stay remain where it is. Scotch lovers love this place. Take a look at the link below, and sign the petiiton if you're an SF resident and you agree. Thanks--Jen

Official March Pub Crawl Agenda for 3/3 at 7PM

HI tribers,

i know, saturday 3/3 is burnal equinox, but i still want to let you know
about the next pub crawl i was mentioning in one of my earlier posts...

i've been to the last one, where around 15-20 people, mostly from yelp.com,
participated. maybe we can turn that into a tribe-yelp-fusion?
before i'll head over to mighty's, i'll get some drinks at the first bars
we'll hit :-)

WHO IS IN?

this is the post from my yelp.com connection, drue:

Drue C. says:

Oh, yes......I promised there would be one a month and I do follow through on my promises. For those of you who went to the last one you know that 8 bars is plenty, and you know that a late night restaurant is key. So here is the agenda, complete with fulfilled requests from our last crawl and a different type of cuisine (we can't do Naan N Curry every time!)

We will meet at bar #1 (Koko) at 7 PM. If you are arriving late PM me and I will give you a way to contact me so you can catch up.

#1. Koko
#2. The Outsider
#3. Ha-Ra
#4. Club Kristi
#5. Nite Cap
#6. Geary Club
#7. R.J.s Sports Bar
#8. High Tide

Our final stop will be Osha Thai, open until 3AM for our dining pleasure
Hope to see many of you there!! Oh, yeah, and it is a full moon on 3/3.

Everyone please welcome charley / lovecito as the new moderator of Dive Bar Connoisseurs. It was a tough decision for me to give it up... I started this tribe in Sept. of 03... when tribe was still in it's infancy. I never had to recruite people here... (insert your own cliche here) build and they will come... birds of a feather, yada yada blah blah blah.

I've met some really amazing people through... lifetime connections, and lifelong friends. In a sense this was like your neighborhood bar... except you bring your own drinks. ;) But it was time to breath new life into it... so belly up to a bar and raise your glass and make a toast to the future success of this tribe and it's new bartend.. er, moderator.

Charley... here are your keys...

Dive Bar Crawl || Now planned monthly

hi folks,

just wanted to let you know that some fellow yelp friends
are having a bar crawl quite often, the last one was
last saturday, and i saw about 6 dive bars in the tenderloin,
and i mean REAL dive bars. i went somewhere else around 11.30pm
but the group (18 people or so) continued to see 3 or 4 more bars.

what a crawl that was.

anyway, since it was such a success the yelp-friend who organized it
is planning on doing it every month (our bodies couldn't handle much more).

it's a yelp.com thing, but hey, why not make a fusion?

so either join yelp to find out about in the future, or simply ask me.
i will also post future crawls on tribe ( i did it for the last one, but
NO ONE from tribe showed up) so let me know if there is some interest at all.

anke

I live in Tampa, but my work brings me all along Florida's east coast between New Symrna and north Broward. mostly Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Brevard counties.
I know a hand full of bars that i hit when I'm on the road, but am always looking for the perfect mix of cheap booze and interesting character. Locals joints. if it's a few decades old, and doubles as a bait shop or anyones been stabbed in there it's probably exactly what i'm looking for. Any ideas

Holy crap. WTF? The death of another of my favorite Gay Old Man Dive Bars. As if Lower Polk St. hasn't been 'sanitized/white-washed' as it is. What a crime. If Aunt Charlie's gets threatened with closure, I will seriously lose my sh*t.

Anyone have any dirt on what type of place is taking over the space? (Just please don't tell me it'll be yet another 'slummingly' swanky hipster haven. Damn them. Leave the TL alone!)

--------

*****This will be one of the last fundraisers held at this bar as it has been sold and will close sometime around the end of Feb/ early March.*****

The Shanghai: the saddest news

The sawdust on the floors, the Chinese food, the bikers, the hippies, the yuppies and the local hillbillies would congregate and tolerate each other to have a beer. It was where I had my first (legal) drink on my 21st birthday. I remember the Fabulous Blue Flames would play on Saturday night with the sax player walking down the bar, dancing spilling over into the street. It was in continuous operation for 106 years with the same family: an institution, history, a piece of americana with substance and grit. It's gone and will be replaced by a clean, generic brew pub. Just what the world needs now is another rubber stamped place for yuppies and tourists to drink, just like we need another strip mall or a hole in the head.

I came back to visit my family in the foothills for T-day and to my complete shock it was closed down. I'm devastated. It's almost like losing a family member. This kind of establishment just can't be replaced.

Robert 'Bobby' Cook -- owner of S.F. tavern that was full of owls - Steve Rubenstein, Chronicle Staff Writer
Thursday, October 12, 2006

Robert "Bobby" Cook was a man who liked owls.

He collected owl paintings, owl sculptures, owl knickknacks, owl stained-glass light fixtures and stuffed owls. He displayed them all inside C. Bobby's Owl Tree, a downtown San Francisco tavern that he owned for 30 years.

"He just enjoyed owls,'' said his son Michael Gardner. "Something about owls stuck in his mind.''

Mr. Cook, 75, died Sept. 14 of cancer in a San Francisco hospital, a few hours after mixing martinis for his regular customers and shutting down his bar for the night.

The bar, an old-fashioned neighborhood tavern on the southwest corner of Post and Taylor streets, was jammed with all things owl. Mr. Cook never met an owl he didn't like, so few patrons were able to avoid the stare of a stuffed, sculpted or painted bird.

Mr. Cook was a no-nonsense fellow behind the bar. He was friendly with good customers and a tough guy with troublemakers. He had many techniques for escorting a client from the premises, his son said -- all of them effective.

Patrons were encouraged to chat with Mr. Cook and, if they didn't, they could lose their barstools.

"You're not contributing anything to this conversation,'' Mr. Cook would tell a closemouthed customer. "Go sit at the other end of the bar.''

Mr. Cook, a native of Ongenburg, N.Y., became enchanted with owls as a boy after coming across a friendly owl during a hike in the woods and believing it to be a good luck omen.

He came to San Francisco in the 1950s and worked for two decades as a waiter at Gino's restaurant until he had saved enough money to buy the bar and go into business for himself.

The Owl Tree, where the jukebox played Frank Sinatra records and the house specialty was the martini and nobody ever got credit, reflected its owner's sensibilities.

"He made a lot of people happy,'' his son said. "And others, well, he knew how to escort 'em out and call the cops.''

Mr. Cook enjoyed listening to music, attending the theater and walking his beloved Jack Russell terrier, Chester.

He is survived by Gardner and by two other sons, Christopher and T.J. Cook, both of San Francisco.

A funeral will be held today at 7:30 p.m. at Halsted N. Gray-Carew and English mortuary, 1123 Sutter St., San Francisco.

A friend of mine with a fondness for dive bars and a long history of tending bar in them got me to join Tribe, started a nonsensical 'tribe' and promptly got himself killed in a car wreck. There's a certain twisted poetry there that I think he would've appreciated.

Missing Concord area dive bars seen on the backs of vodka bottles:

Fatts: friendly, friendly, friendly!....uh, no.

Maltas, Maltas had a 21-7 policy, must be 21 or older with a minimum of 7 teeth.

Sage Room: Many patrons carbon dated to be well over 4oo years old. however everyone was welcome, will be missed.

House of Lui: featured the patio of lost souls..

Am I missing any?

for awhile they tried to make it a trendy young person's bar. didn't work.

when i was there sunday afternoon none of the tap beer was available. they were selling seven ounce budweisers. the bathroom was C-. there were gaps among the liquor bottles like between the teeth of longterm tenderloin residents. it was nice.

Hi there,

I am going to visit a friend in Florida in June, and we are going to drive down to Miami and stay a couple nights. now my friend has been to Miami a bunch (I haven't), and between what she says and from what I have gathered from browsing around it is a super clubby/party scene. Neither of us are into that AT ALL (waiting in line for HOURS to pay a high cover and listen to horrible dance music??? uhhhhh NO!!!!), but I can't seem to find anything that isn't that...we don't need a club necessarily-just maybe a good dive bar for us to escape the suntanned Botoxed madness that is South Beach. Anyone have any suggestions? or maybe a source for listings (like an SF Weekly or Guardian)?? any good TIKI bars????

THANKS!

May I just say that San Francisco is an endless hotbed of superfabulous amazing dive bars. Just went on a little impromptu tour with my friends this past saturday. I am falling more and more in love with san francisco every day. We hit about 8 bars and they were all truly classic dives. I can't wait to come back and dedicate an entire weekend to exploring more of them.

Atlanta Dives

I recently moved out here to San Fran, but I'll put down my favorite dives from Atlanta (and surroundings) before I forget.

Little 5 points: (Atlanta's gentrefied and safe freak-zone)
ElMyr: Counterfit mexican dive bar named for a counterfit spanyard who painted counterfits. Fun place, espically if you like the Dead Kennedies. Margurita is the drink here. It'll put you on your ass and tast like it too. $4.
Euclid Ave. Yacht Club (EAYC): Fun almost-dive bar. Espically seeing how there are no yachts within 100 miles.

south of there you have Meremorial (pronounced Muh-mor-ral) drive
Six Feet Under: across from the historic Oakland Cemetery (current home of Martin Luther King, jr) Great bar, good catfish
Lenneys: Former biker bar that turned sortof hipster when the owner got a crack addiction (odd story, that). Still has $2 pbr tallboys. Free pool on Tues/Thrus or Mon/Wed (I can't remember, drank those braincells away)

north-east:
Mr. C's Neighborhood Bar and Grill (no kitchen as far as I know). Damn good dive off of Howell Mill Rd

DecaturLand: (Important: Decatur serves until 4 (or later), Atlanta closes alcohol at 2)
Trackside (aka trashside or dykeside): Cheap wells, drunken karioki on tuesdays. Very good for the gay/lesbian croud. Free pool on weeknights that Lenny's doesn't have it. (see above)

Famous is on the north end of Dekatur (near Emory, which means you'll see girls driving silver bimmers and white mustangs). Famous is great because it's where all the waitstaff of the emory machine go to decompress. Occasionally gets taken over for sport events though. Lots of beer on tap.

For people not familiar with Atlanta, The Highlander is NOT a dive bar, it wants to be one. Don't let occasional bikers fool you, they are paid to be there as far as I can tell. The Independant (above highlander) is not a dive bar, it's known as "The World of Coke", and we're not talking about the soda. Azul in decatur is hipster and charges 7 bucks for a whiskey, but they do have $1 PBR on friday, which almost makes it worthwile.

Do's in atlanta dives: PBR tallboys (you'll be called out if you order a 12 ouncer), whiskey, burbon, anything lite, et cetera
Don'ts in atlanta: Mimosa, Cosmo, ____ sour, foreign beers,

Oh, and if you go into a bar that sells 40's, don't stay out of curocity, get the hell out. That's not a dive, that's your funeral.

I'm trying to plan a south side dive bar pub crawl but I'm focussing on the area around Midway airport. I know of a couple, like Karolinska's. Any suggestions? I already have been to a majority of other south side dive's (the End Zone, the Alibi, and McGowen's) so if you know what those are like and can clue me in on some others like it, I'd be much obliged.

My friend Fuzzy Bunny just moved up to the Bay Area from Tucson and is looking for a bartending job. Since we all know that you have to know someone to get a bartending job in the city I thought I would throw this out there in case anyone knows of an opening or any openings coming up. Here is a link to his blog... at the very least welcome him to our fine city. :D

Mourning the loss of a dive

In my opinion as a (now former) dive regular, change for a dive is usually bad; today my heart was truly broken.
I was faced with the reality that my dive will never be the same again. It closed almost 3 months ago, my boyfriend and I (who incidentally met at the bar on a Tuesday in Feb 03)
purchased most of the sentimentalities including the pool table, and an orange vinyl barber chair - Yet, I still held on to the possibility that the deal wouldn't go through...or that history would repeat itself again; and it could possibly still be a dive. The 529 in Santa Cruz (formerly named the Knight Owl and the Stardust Lounge) - stayed a neighborhood dive through 3 owners (all who tried to "fix it up")- all the regulars stayed the same - you could spot someone trying too hard before they walked in the door; but this year, the Valley invaded.
As you can see in the "Santa Cruz Underground" tribe post regarding "The Cardiff Lounge" - My dive has officially been laid to rest for the public...All I can hold on to now is the beautifully stained and tattering felt of the pool table that now sits securely in my garage - My Boyfriend and I still use it everyday, and drink and smoke with our old 529 regulars that became orphans as well.
Thanks for being the type of folks who understand :)

Any good Seattle dives left?

Seems like all of the good ones I used to know have closed, been turned into yuppy hellholes, or been overrun by a bunch of annoying hipsters.

Oh ... and even if there are some left aroud here one of the essential features of a dive is about to dissapear much as it has in NYC and California, the thick cloud of cigarette smoke (well assuming that assnine anti-smoking initative passes).

What Maketh a Dive-Bar?

I think we should come up with a list of criteria that we can use to define and/or rate a dive bar.

Feel free to add to this list what you think is appropriate.

1. The odor: A strange, unhealthy blend of stale cig smoke, sour beer, ethyl alcohol, body odor, burnt coffee, male urine, vomit, and PINE-SOL (very strong as in a feeble attempt to cover up all of the aforementioned).

2. The bar: Faded and worn down cheap laminated surface. Elbo rest is usually sticky with carved graffitti.

3. The food: Generally not available. When it is, it is usually a rack of stale potato chips and peanuts tackilly displayed behind the bar. A popcorn machine is always cool. A hot dog warming machine is even better. But I give triple bonus points when I see a jar of pickled eggs.

4. Furnishings: Torn up naugahyde and vinyl is the standard. Wobbly barstools and tables that obviously have been tossed around and turned over through the years. I know one place that even uses the old tables and chairs that the KFC next door threw out. Now that's what I call an upgrade. ;)

5. The drinks: Heavy-handed pours at a low price. Otherwise, why the hell would we waste our time there?

Okay so I just returned from a trip to NYC, and I absolutely LOVED it but I must bitch about the absolutely OUTRAGEOUS drink prices!! It didn't seem to matter whether I Was at a dive bar or some Hip restaurant....I mean I went to a somewhat Dive-y bar/venue, and I figured I couldn't go wrong with a PBR....it was fucking $5 BUCKS!!! WTF?? thank GOD they had Jager specials....3 shots for $5!

My friends there said they almost always drink at home before heading out for the evening...How boring!

So the other day I'm on my way to the local joint my husband and I love when I overhear some FYB (fucking yuppie bitch) talking on her cell about how she's "going to this bar, it's like supposed to be a dive bar." I turn to the hubby and say "man, those bitches are going to the Buck. fuck."

Sure enough they walk in right behind us. There are a whole gaggle of them and they are all wearing matching wifebeaters that say something about being an "Edmonds girl" or some other stupid shit. The bartender gives us our beers and says "jeez, this chicks are going to order a bunch of drinks and then give me a credit card, I know it." The bar is cash only, says so on the big sign.

So while the group is coordinating themselves and more show up (!) some guy at the bar leaves, gets on his bike and proceeds to do a massive burnout right in front of the door, filling the bar with smoke and exhaust. The FYBs are freaked out, all start complaining and leave in a huff. The bartender says "dude, that was pretty bad" to which I respond "well, it's not like you told him to do it." The sly smile that comment receives causes me to say "you didn't?!?!" Yes, yes he did.

I love my bar.

Hey all, There is a place here in Pahoa Hawaii called the Black Rock.
It has your standard usuals at the bar drinkin the day away, an occassional dead cockroach belly up in the corner(I can't figure out if its from spray or overconsumption) and a pretty tasty burger.
Join me anytime

Has anyone been to this charming little 1950's remnant in Santa Fe Springs? They have red naugahyde booths, $2 bottles of domestic beer, and I think you can even still buy a steak dinner there.
