there are many, i know, but i've yet to stumble into the right one. my man has hit winters and liked it, and together we hit cheers, which is um, impacted with what appears to be many regulars whose brains have been ravaged by years of amphetamine abuse. one of the bartenders was even smoking dope out front when we walked in, which seemed dumb as hell because it's in a freakin' strip mall! can you say "totally blown away"???
so uh yeah. if anyone knows of any good spots to hit up, that would be awesome! we just recently moved down here and are still getting our sea legs, so to speak.

Re: dives in pacifica?
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 6:05 PMOh man... Surf Lounge is where I always went... but I lived about 20 yards from there, if that. It's on Aura Vista Dr right next to Viva Italiano (great pizza!). Aura Vista is right by that Safeway off of Manor... almost to the ocean. I lived in the apartments right behind Safeway on Esplanade... ocean front, ocean view. (405 Esplanade to be exact... #6) -

Tue, May 13, 2008 - 2:48 PMwell, lord, i am sad about the surf lounge being no longer but happy to hear that there was once decent pizza in this town. if it's still open i'm gonna get me a pie from there. we struck out so hard on the pizza front that i got bread machine and have been making my own dough (and 'za). -

Tue, May 13, 2008 - 5:07 PMLooks like Viva Italiano is still there... but I hear under new owners, so you're going to have to figger out for yourself if it's any good or not. I'm sure they still deliver... and they used to deliver beer with it too, not sure if they still do.

Re: dives in pacifica?
Mon, May 12, 2008 - 2:29 PMsurf lounge r.i.p. the owner died, and when the a.b.c. showed up they found big booze bottles and a funnel to put them into littler a.b.c. approved bar bottles.
winters rocks. watching the unauthorized rolling stones play there was a perfect example of 'water seeks its level.'
and then there's octopussy (can't remember its real name, but that's what my friend lord zatar calls it) in that strip mall towards the south of town.
and always walk home or take a cab, cause pacifica's finest got nothing better to do... -

Re: dives in pacifica?
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 2:46 PMoctopussy is cheers! and it's totally stumbling distance from my house.
maybe i'll have to hit it a few more times before i make up my mind. this braindead idiot put a bad taste in my mouth because i looked at the wall behind the pool table and they had a huge banner giants schedule and it reminded me that i still need a pocket schedule. when i asked the bartender if they had any (i used to get piles of them when i tended), he said no and this mental midget chimed in "there's one right THERE!" after explaining to him that i saw that one but wanted one for my wallet, he suggested i rip it off the wall and fold it up. uhhhhhhh, yeah dude. either a poor attempt at humor or one too many tokes on glass dick.
